For bass lessons, many of the above subjects are covered in the same way, in particular scales & arpeggios. Additional material for bass lessons includes Slap technique and working out bass lines from songs provided by the student.

Simon uses examples of well known classic & contemporary songs to give examples of some of the subjects mentioned above. In addition he will teach you how to play your favourite songs. Just bring a CD or tape to the lesson and Simon will work it out for you and take you through it step by step. He can also teach you how to set up your own equipment to sound the way you want it. In fact he has written several articles on equipment set-ups which you can read on this site (see below).

Simon has developed a brand new method of learning scales on the guitar. He has written a book about the method which has loads of examples, all written in TAB. Where things get tricky, photographs are included to show you exactly where to put your left hand. The method does not include lead playing techniques or chords or even pentatonic scales as these areas have been covered before by hundreds of publications. What Simon's book "Signpost to the Fretboard" does, is to show simple ways to learn and remember fretboard patterns used in the major scale, the minor scale and all of the associated modes. Like many great, yet simple inventions, Simon's method often provokes the reaction, "Why has no one thought of this before?". Following the method will save years of struggling to remember things parrot fashion.

The latest version of Simon's book should soon be available from this site. Check the Latest News for updates.
